Attention Fall 2010 Pell Grant Recipients

If you are receiving a Pell Grant you must be enrolled in all of your classes, including late start classes, by the date awarded or August 31. The Financial Aid Office must use a census date each semester.  The census date is the date that your financial aid is locked in for that semester. Students who are awarded aid by the census date, which is August 31 for the Fall 2010 semester, CANNOT have their Pell Grant increased for classes added after the census date for that semester.  This applies to adding classes at GateWay or turning in consortium agreements for classes taken at other colleges.

In order to be eligible for Pell Grant funds for the classes you are enrolled in, you must be registered by the census date, this applies to late start classes as well, and if applicable the Financial Aid Office must have a completed consortium agreement by the census date.  Students who apply for aid after the census date will have their Pell Grant awarded based on the number of credit hours they are enrolled in on the day their award is calculated.

The Spring Pell Grant census date is January 25, 2011 for the Spring 2011 semester.
