Many blogs in the Blend community offer the ability for readers to enter an e-mail address to receive updates whenever new posts are made. After entering an e-mail address, the user will receive a confirmation e-mail that contains a verification link. The link must be clicked in order for the subscription to become active. The e-mail looks something like this:
Thank you for subscribing to my blog, [Blog name here].
In order to start receiving emails when I make a new post, could you please click here?
If you did not request this subscription or for whatever reason decide you do not wish to receive email notifications of my posts, please just disregard this email. Each future post email will contain a link to easily unsubscribe yourself from future emails if you should change your mind.
Thank you,
[Blog author's name here].
If the user never clicks the verification link, the subscription never takes effect.
Subscription problems can be addressed by sending an e-mail to Blend support at blend@gatewaycc.edu or making a post in our support forum.
